Inky Hands is a contemporary silk screen studio, gallery and publisher in Dallas, TX, dedicated fully to silk screen printing as a fine art process. The studio provides a collaborative approach to producing screen prints with other artist, as well as offers the community a place to learn, with introductory workshops, single classes and intermediate courses.
ky Hands Gallery is a contemporary art gallery located in the Deep Ellum district of Dallas, TX, open by appointment only. The gallery is committed to exhibiting the works of emerging to mid-career artists, as well as a variety of strong secondary market works. Since opening in 2015, the owner and master printer Kat LiBretto has continued to build a connection between the vibrant worldwide printmaking scene and the local community.
Inky Hands was initially started as an artist's gallery, a place where Kat LiBretto could exhibit and expose Dallas to her screen printing practice and new editions. The gallery is now exhibiting prints by national and international artists alongside her work, so that the community will gain greater exposure and understanding to different methods in the process.
Inky Hands Studio and Gallery will be relocating to Massachusetts in Winter/Spring of 2018. Stay tuned for more information.
Inky Hands was founded in 2015 by practicing artist printmaker Katharine LiBretto. She received her Bachelor of Fine Art degree in 2007, concentrating in Graphic Design, at C.W. Post College/Long Island University, in New York. From 2009-2011, she studied at The School of Visual Arts’ Continuing Education program in New York City until she moved to London to develop her printmaking practice full time. In 2012 she received a Masters degree with Merit at Camberwell College of Art/University of the Arts London in Printmaking. In 2013 she was granted an Artist Residency at the Women’s Studio Workshop in New York, USA in 2013. In 2014 she had her first solo exhibition in Hong Kong.
